On behalf of the Convocation Committees and the Council, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 23rd Convocation of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons to be held at the Grand Chancellor Hotel, Hobart from 30 March to 2 April 2016.
The Scientific Program is built on the theme: “No Mouth is an Island – oral health in the systemic universe”. Science is rapidly unravelling the associations between oral and general health. The 23rd Convocation of the RACDS will showcase contemporary research and advances that highlight the increasingly important role the dental profession plays in promoting individual health and wellbeing.
The Hotel Grand Chancellor is a 4.5 star property located on Hobart’s historic waterfront, adjacent to Constitution Dock. This picturesque area is also close to the central business district, shopping and all of Hobart’s main tourist attractions.
In the evenings we will experience the local Tasmanian delights and sample some of the finest wines from the region. Our Convocation Dinner will be held at the stunning Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart. With Philippe Leban, a Michelin Star chef, preparing indulgent contemporary French-inspired cuisine, it’s an evening not to be missed.
We look forward to seeing many of our Fellows, Members and Candidates at the Convocation and participating in the scientific and collegiate activities. Book the event in your diaries now and look forward to enjoying a first class scientific programme whilst catching up with old friends and colleagues in this charming setting.
